Privacy Policy

Who we are
Roaming Advice operates roamingadvice.com. We publish independent carrier roaming cost comparisons and eSIM savings guides for international travelers. Questions about this policy: contact us at fix@roamingadvice.com.
Data we collect
We collect the minimum data needed to operate this site. Here is exactly what that means:
Cookies
This site uses a single first-party cookie to remember which carrier you selected in the savings calculator so you do not have to re-select on each page. No advertising cookies are set. No cross-site tracking is used. You can clear this preference at any time by clearing your browser cookies for roamingadvice.com. The calculator works without the cookie — you will simply need to re-select your carrier on each page.
How we use your data
We use data to operate and improve the site. Specifically: to understand which country pages and carrier guides are most useful, to fix broken links and rate errors, and to respond to contact emails. We do not sell data. We do not share data with advertisers.
Third-party services
We link to eSIM providers including HelloRoam, Saily, and Airalo. These are affiliate links. When you click through and purchase, those companies may record your visit and purchase data under their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party data practices.
Our site may be served via a CDN or hosted on infrastructure that collects standard server logs (IP address, request path, timestamp). These logs are retained for security purposes and not used for tracking.
Your rights (GDPR — EU/EEA residents)
If you are located in the EU or EEA, you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation:
- ✓Right of access — request a copy of any data we hold about you
- ✓Right to rectification — correct inaccurate data
- ✓Right to erasure — request deletion of your data
- ✓Right to restriction — limit how we process your data
- ✓Right to data portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format
- ✓Right to object — object to processing based on legitimate interests
To exercise any of these rights, email fix@roamingadvice.com with the subject line “GDPR Request”. Because we collect only server logs and email correspondence, most access requests will receive a brief confirmation of what is held. We aim to respond within 20 working days.
Your rights (CCPA — California residents)
California residents may request details of any personal information we hold, ask us to delete it, and confirm that we do not sell personal information to third parties. To submit a request, email fix@roamingadvice.com with the subject line “CCPA Request”. We honor all valid requests without discrimination.
Data retention
Analytics data is retained for 6 months in aggregate form, then rolled into monthly summary reports and the raw data deleted. Contact emails are held until the matter is resolved and for a 60-day grace period, then deleted. Server infrastructure logs are purged weekly. We do not hold any financial or payment data.
Security
All connections to roamingadvice.com are served over HTTPS with modern TLS. We enforce HTTP Strict Transport Security to prevent protocol downgrade attacks. We do not process payments and hold no financial credentials. All purchases occur on the provider's own checkout infrastructure.
Changes to this policy
When we change how we collect or use data in a meaningful way, the effective date at the top of this page changes. We do not send update notifications by email. We recommend checking this page if you have concerns about privacy practices. Immaterial wording corrections do not trigger an effective-date update.
Email fix@roamingadvice.com for any questions about this privacy policy or how we handle your data.
